Call & Response

Extending the concept of feedback, we can see parallels in many other forms of communication which we wouldn’t typically think of as feedback.

Conversations

Conversations, in person, but also in chat messages, are a form or call & response, some content is created and — either immediately (IRL) or within a reasonably short period of time (online), some feedback is expected. The time it takes to compose the feedback, and the time it takes to receive the feedback are part of the message feedback message itself.

Verbal feedback is, as we’ve seen with conversations, the most common type of feedback we receive. It is constant and unavoidable.
