Speak so that everyone can hear you

If you do not have a microphone, you need to project your voice.

Don’t be afraid to ask “Can you hear me in the back?” before you begin.

211.1 Volume

Beginning with a good posture, fill your lungs with as much air as you can muster. Exhale slowly and steadily, while saying Woooooossssshhhhhhhhhh. Push the air out using your diaphragm, not your lungs & upper chest. Try to drag out the sh for as long as possible, until you feel some slight discomfort in your diaphragm. Keep this movement in mind when presenting in front of an audience.

211.2 Projecting

When presenting envision running a race, where the real end is after the official end line. When you talk, focus on the area behind your audience. Don’t talk to your audience, talk past them.

The next step is to make sure you are speaking clearly.
