3  Goal

The focus of this text book is to on improving communication, specifically among STEMians, as opposed to a lay audience. It is my experience that STEMians are often called out for their poor communication skills. Meanwhile, communication skills appears more frequently as a desired qualification.

Thus, my overall goal is two-fold:

  1. To change the understanding of communication skills among STEMians, and,
  2. To provide relevant examples and exercises to help them improve those communication skills.

Taken together, my hope is to provide a modern synthesis of communication in STEM, integrating a powerful tool that is sorely unappreciated, misunderstood and poorly used, into everyday thinking and practice across STEM fields.
