220  Turning Points

Scientific presentations generally have three sections: Background, Research and Conclusion. The length of each section depends on the needs of the audience.

For example, Bonnie’s talk consists of roughly 25% Background, 63% Research and 12% Conclusion.

Each presentation should have two key turning points, regardless of presentation length. It is important that the audience is aware of which section of the talk you are presenting.

Bonnie transitions from Background to Research when she begins her first mini-story, and from Research to Conclusion when she states what she hopes the audience has learned so far.
